Pro-life Pastor Prepares for Sentencing

( Charlie Butts

An Oakland, California, pastor could face jail time for expressing his pro-life views.

Pastor Walter Hoye ran into trouble with an abortion clinic while doing an informational picket. Dennis Howard, leader of The Movement for a Better America, believes Hoye is innocent.

"His approach was simply to carry a sign that said 'Jesus Loves You. Can We Help?' and offering those who wanted it some information about alternatives to abortion," Howard explains.

A complaint was filed and Hoye was found guilty in spite of proof to the contrary. "There was a video taken of him doing this, and it shows that he was not harassing anybody," Howard points out. "In fact, he was being harassed by escorts from the abortion clinic."

Pastor Hoye faces up to two years in jail and a $4,000 fine. Howard is calling Christians into action. "We feel that pro-life organizations around the country ought to take up this man's cause and pray and fast between now and February 19," he concludes.

That is when Hoye is due to be sentenced.

As a Christian this troubles me, if the information is accurate that is. Even if the issue is only Pastor Hoye’s violation of a regulated distance law, it would seem his 2 year sentence and $4,000 fine is over the top. It would appear justice is not being served. Hopefully the Federal court will change the ordinance, if it goes that far.

I wonder how people would respond if a pro-deather stood out front of a hospital as mothers came to give birth, and held a sign “Are you sure you want this? If not we can help.” And the situation was reversed, there would be no crime and Hollywood actors would praise the protestors as agents of moral good.

Speyek...a doctor in Florida lost his license for delivering a baby live that was supposed to be aborted...there are lots of stories the media never tells you about.
Christians are being persecuted because of homosexuality also in America. Have you heard of 'Speechless...Silencing the Christians'

I watched the video on and it was very disturbing! I would encourage others to watch it.

Did anyone watch the O’Reilly Factor on the FoxNEWs Network? Bill O’Reilly reported on a student suing the L.A. college district for religious discrimination. The student referenced homosexuality and received and inappropriate reaction from his professor. It was encouraging to see someone stand up for their rights!
